If you're like me, reading a newspaper or news site is a sure trip down a rabbit hole. Why did that happen? Does it happen often? What does it mean to me, the economy, and the rest of the world? What else is there to know about it? This either sounds thoroughly unfamiliar to you or just like your own thought exercises. If you're kindred, please follow this blog.

Each month,

• I'll pick five topics to feature. (Why five? Because, in my experience, that's about my span of control.) I'll tell you what they are at the start of each month.

• I'll assign a category to all related posts per the topics post. This way, you can follow a thread if you'd like without extra work.

• I'll also list my sources on a page for each topic so that you can see everything I've cited in one place.

• And, I'll check my email gina at a restless mind . blog to see what you have to add to the discussion.
